Your observations resonated well with me as I invested around 25 years of my precious time to formal education which produced less returnes than my effort. I come to this world again I would focus on more informal learnign than formal one. Both have different benefits but as you articulated formal education unfortunately teach us to avoid failure which is a critical part of life. My favourite skill is problem solving which I mainly gained through trial and error. You are spot on principles rather than bunch of facts.
