This is an excellent article describing the culture of LinkedIn and opening a healthy debate on a publication’s presence on this unique platform.

I want to set the context and add clarity on the approach. We don’t load the articles to LinkedIn but we aim to provide links and teasers provided by Medium’s RSS process. It is not different than a Tweet or Facebook post.

This approach means that the LinkedIn members can see the story name, main photo in the story, and the hyperlink of the article taking the viewers to the original source of the article on Medium.

The purpose of this exercise is to create awareness for the LinkedIn members on what is being created on Medium and aim to attract new subscribers who may be impressed by the content produced by Medium writers.

In my view, this an an opportunity and advantage to every writer to be seen outside of Medium, gain exposure to content, and attract new readers and subscribers to Medium.
