I have been observing the same pattern since Medium removed the real curated topics in 2021 merged with tags which shows everything instantly published. As your screen captures shows there is a huge amount of bot accounts keep spamming the platform and polluting topic pages followed by millions. So if a new curious reader join Medium and check those topics they will see those spam posts and most likely they will not care to pay Medium as a reader. I hope the leadership teams sees this caring article and take timely action before we lose our valuable readers. I am also concerned about the proposed lists like all about ChatGPT in the science topic which is my favourite one on Medium as there are so many scientists from universities and research institutes.
