Thank you for writing such a well-balanced article, David. Your points resonate with me. I appreciate your thoughtful perspective. I’m sorry to hear about the loss of your loved one due to alcohol. It’s a pain no one should have to endure.

Although I quit alcohol for different reasons—primarily because of its detrimental effects on the brain, which became clear to me during my studies—I completely understand that some well-educated and mindful people, like you, can enjoy it in moderation with awareness. It’s fascinating how individual differences play a role in how our bodies process alcohol. For instance, I always felt awful after just one glass of wine, while most of my friends seemed to thrive after a night out during our younger years.

Beyond its effects on the brain and liver, what concerns me most is alcohol’s addictive nature. Unfortunately, some people fall into this trap. It can devastate their lives. History is filled with examples of intelligent and creative thought leaders whose lives were cut short due to alcoholism. It has also been the source of countless broken relationships, cases of child abuse, and tragic alcohol-related accidents.

In terms of cancer, I’ve been following the literature closely and have seen considerable evidence pointing to alcohol’s carcinogenic effects. Of course, this doesn’t mean everyone who drinks will develop cancer, but it does significantly increase the risk. It’s worth considering if there are other risks too that might have combined effects for ruther risks like too much refined foods, sedentary life, and chronic stress.

I recently wrote a story reflecting my research based on warnings from health authorities and observations in my circles but unfortunately some people thought I was exaggerating so I shared my thoughts and sentiments about it with respect for further awareness.
