I received the same feedback from many writers contributing to my publications. Especially after the topics page disappeared many writers whose stories distirubuted to topics experienced a sharp drop in reading times. Thank you for sharing this important concern. I hope Medium fix this issue timely if is a technical matter. But we don't know about other issues which you also wisely touched on.
