I can’t speak for others, but I’m 100% certain that saturated fats have made me healthier and happier. I have no fear of cholesterol—my LDL is high, but so is my HDL, and all my biomarkers are optimal. My inflammation markers are negligible which helped me to reverse arthritis.
More importantly, in my sixties, my body fat is as low as it was at 18, and my muscles are stronger than in my early 20s.
I consume 200 grams of healthy fat daily from animal sources, and it has given me a sharp mind and a strong body. No amount of fearmongering about saturated fats and cholesterol will change my mind. I fell for those bloody fat lies in my 20s, which led to prediabetes and abdominal obesity. But when I switched to 200 grams of fat with intermittent fasting and near ZERO carbs, I had six-pack abs in my early 50s.
A bunch of biased scientists funded by food and drink companies have zero influence on my health choices. I learned what works through trial, error, and boldness—and I’ve never looked back.
Thanks David for writing this valuable piece. Coming from a retired cardiologist means a lot to me. I hope it is boosted.
