Hi Noma,
Thank you for your kind comments and your understanding of my situation.
In terms of craving, I also experienced strong cravings for meat when I was a vegetarian. On those days, I was not aware of my body’s intelligence and ignored it with so called self discipline. However, at later stages, it really caused me serious health risks such as severe vitamin B12 deficiency affecting my nervous system.
The other debilitating problem was fluctuated blood glucose levels which caused the mood swings and constant hunger prangs. I had to eat six times a day to normalise my blood glucose levels. Ironically, being on a vegetarian diet caused me weight gains and constant bloating.
As soon as I started eating meat again and increasing my healthy fat intake, all symptoms disappeared and my blood markers normalised. It was a difficult decision to switch from vegetarian to a meat eater which created dilemma. I had to choose health over my beliefs and ethical concerns at the time.
I agree with your point on diets and perhaps we shouldn’t call it diet. In my situation it turned to be a life style.
I truly respect your choice of vegan, it may suit your genetic makeup and align with your life style. Therefore, I pointed out in my article that we are all unique and our circumstances vary. My biggest discovery was my intolerance to carbs. This piece of knowledge was a game changer for my transformation.
