Hi Natalie, my heart truly aches for your situation, and I deeply regret the frustration you’ve experienced. Over the past three months, the overwhelming growth of my publications, combined with glitches from Medium, has made things unmanageable. It reached a breaking point where I had to make the incredibly difficult decision to close my best publication, ILLUMINATION-Curated, and resign from the Boost program, sacrificing privileges I once valued.
My Slack inbox has ballooned to over 3,000 unread messages — an impossible load for any one person to handle. To help manage this, I’ve assigned 10 dedicated volunteers as my backup and set up a virtual helpdesk on Slack, monitored by 160 volunteers to address urgent issues. Despite my efforts, it pains me to admit that only 1% of our writers were able to hear my concerns, as Medium placed my stories in ‘distribution jail,’ silencing my voice. In addition, my account was cloned countless times, increasing my excessive workload.
In response, I created a public portal on my website where writers can directly reach me for urgent matters. I receive about 100 inquiries a day and do my best to address them all.
