Hi Mark, thank you for sharing your experience and providing thoughtful comments. I am sorry to hear about your family situation. I also have some suffering family members, especially with type II diabetes. One of them is experiencing the onset of Alzheimer’s disease whose situation concerns me a lot. I agree with the importance of resistance training. Interestingly, long-term fasting does not affect my sleep quality however I also sleep less during the five to seven days fasts. When I checked with my smartwatch I even get a higher quality of sleep during long fasts. However, we are all different. If 36 hours is the sweet spot for you, it is good to continue with it. After 18 hours the body can start the autophagy process providing you don’t consume many refined carbs. The only supplement I use to improve my sleep is magnesium in oral and dental forms as mentioned in my stories. I used to supplement with a few grams of glycine but as I drink plenty of homemade bone broth, I don’t need to supplement anymore. Thank you for your inspiring words for my content. I feel privileged to meet informed readers like yourself.
