Hi Lisa, thank you for sharing your inspiring experience. You make great progress in the right path. From my experience animal products especially fatty fish, eggs, and organ meats great for bioavailable protein and healthy fat. I don't use supplemental protein as it quickly turn into sugar and might cause the body to be insulin resistance. Supplementation might be necessary for athletes and bodybuilders doing excessive exercise like 8 hours a day but not for people doing moderate exercises like an hour or so.
