Hi Jo, sorry for late response. I just saw this valuable comment and wanted to share my thoughts.

People assume that intermittent fasting would cause weight loss as default but it is not true or conditionally true.

For example if a person consumes 5000 calories in 8 hour window and burn 3000 calories in 16 hour window they will not lose weight and even might gain some.

Theoretically their body can be more insulin sensitive as during the 16 hour period there will be less insulin spikes and more growth hormone release.

As you say we are all individuals and unless several qualified healthcare professionals analyze the metabolic activities and hormons from multiple angles in detail it is not possible to make conclusive remarks.
