Hi James,
Thank you for your feedback — I truly appreciate your willingness to share your valuable thoughts. However, I believe it might be helpful to explore some foundational concepts about Substack and Medium to understand their true nature and intended audience, as they function quite differently, and comparing them directly can sometimes be like comparing apples to oranges.
Your criticism is certainly welcome, but I want to ensure that your comments do not unintentionally create confusion or discourage new writers. As someone who has been active on both Medium and Substack for five years, I have witnessed firsthand how these platforms can empower writers. Through innovative methods I have developed, many of my protégés have achieved remarkable success, with some surpassing my own audience growth.
While LinkedIn is indeed a valuable platform — I even dedicated a book chapter to its potential — it operates in a fundamentally different way. LinkedIn is highly algorithmically restricted, which often limits content visibility. For instance, I regularly receive over 100K views on Substack for certain posts, yet those same posts might only get 1K views on LinkedIn, despite my large network.
Magnetic Newsletter Pro is a tool that allows Substack writers to introduce and promote their newsletters on Medium to attract new readers and gain subscribers. This is a vaualbe tool and you should leveage this free service by writing about your newsletter. No one knows who you are and what you do unless you introduce it.
Again, I value your perspective and encourage you to study features of Substack and Medium, deepen your understanding, and leverage the power of the writing community with meaningful engagement, as part of being the new Friends of ILLUMINATION initiative.
