Hi Dr. Yardimci, this story deeply resonated with me on multiple levels. I chose to become a Reiki practitioner in the early 1990s after experiencing a remarkable session during a period of chronic stress while leading an international project in Japan. That course sparked my curiosity to explore the growing body of literature in both Eastern and Western traditions.
Although the mechanisms have not been clearly documented in Western literature, I have attempted to explain them in my hypotheses using the body-mind connection through known pathways, including the nervous system, HPA axis, and gut-brain connection. In addition to its help for reducing my stress it also helped me to relieve stress of my loved ones as mentioned in recent story. https://medium.com/illumination/the-night-my-adult-sons-voice-broke-the-silence-at-3-a-m-in-london-905c6520d656
Your insightful story has inspired me today, as I have included a chapter about Reiki and similar processes in my upcoming book, Cortisol Clarity, which is scheduled to be published on January 1, 2025, as a gift to society for addressing chronic stress and burnout.
Thank you for writing this and inspiring me to share my chapter as a story soon. I will cite your story, as insights from a seasoned medical doctor like you can inspire readers to consider these types of alternative therapies, which science is still catching up to.
