After moving further distribution labels from stories, stats worsened. There appears to be no curation happening from my observations. The algorithm does not recognize high-quality and high-impact stories for regular readers. I lost 50% of my views and reading times. I also observed the decline in the stats of writers I mentor. No one seems to be happy during this transition period. I hope. Medium takes this feedback on board and makes improvements. A similar decline happened over a year ago when the platform introduced new features. However, the problem was resolved after a few months. I hope the same improvement happens before Medium loses its valuable writers who delight their readers. Since my stats dropped, I have had no new subscribers in terms of new readers, which concerns me about the platform's future. This means that our stories cannot attract paid members anymore. This is the most critical aspect the leadership should focus on. Unfortunately, the helpdesk is defensive, saying they did not make any change, but it is like denying the sun's existence. They do their job, but it is not a good strategy to push back with no evidence.
